Gerald Haddock

CEO, Chairman of the Board, and Chairman of the Executive Committee

 

Gerald Haddock is the CEO, Chairman of the Board, and Chairman of the Executive Committee. In 2000, Mr. Haddock decided to use his more than 30 years of financial, real estate, oil and gas, and legal experience in order to form his own company, Haddock Enterprises, LLC, and focus on private equity and commercial real estate investments.


Prior to forming Haddock Enterprises, Mr. Haddock served as president and chief executive officer of Crescent Real Estate Equities, a diversified real estate investment trust. As Co-founder, CEO and COO, they acquired commercial office projects throughout downtown Dallas and Houston and went public in 1994.


In addition to his role as president of Haddock Investments, Gerald Haddock serves on numerous for-profit and not-for-profit boards, including the board for Meritage Homes Corporation, the Board of Trustees for the Baylor College of Medicine, the Baylor University Executive Investment Committee, and several others.


Mr. Haddock has his BBA from Baylor University, JD from Baylor University School of Law, LLM from New York University School of Law, and MBA from Dallas Baptist University.

Jack Tompkins

Board Member
 

Jack Tompkins has served since 1998 as Chairman and CEO of ARTA Equity Advisors, L.L.C., engaging in various entrepreneurial opportunities. Mr. Tompkins began his career with Arthur Young & Co., working as a certified public accountant for three years before joining Arthur Andersen, L.L.P., where he was elected to the partnership in 1981 and served until 1988.

 

From 1988 until October 1996, Mr. Tompkins served as Chief Financial Officer, Senior Vice President and Chief Information, Administrative & Accounting Officer of a large publicly traded energy company. Mr. Tompkins served as a Chairman and CEO of Automotive Realty Trust Company of America from its inception in 1997 until its sale to a publicly traded REIT in January 1999. From March to September of 1999, Mr. Tompkins served as interim Executive Vice President and CFO of Crescent Real Estate Equities.

Jim Still

Board Member
 

Jim Still is a middle market Chief Executive Officer and Board of Directors member. During his career, Jim has been the CEO of five privately held companies and a member of the Board of Directors of over a dozen privately held companies. In addition, he has been a member of the Board of Directors of several not-for-profit institutions.

 

After spending the early years of his career in the mergers and acquisitions at Bell Atlantic Corporation, Jim became President and privately held real estate companies in the mid-Atlantic region. Jim engineered a management buyout of the company in transitioning to a privately held real estate investment trust, renamed Atlantic American Properties Trust. The MBO was described by the Wall Street Journal as the largest management buyout of a commercial real estate company in the United States in the 1990s.

 

After integrating another private company, Commonwealth Atlantic Properties, Atlantic American Properties Trust was ultimately sold to a public entity in the late 1990s. Jim has spent his career post-Atlantic American Properties Trust as both an advisor to business enterprises as well as serving as Chief Executive Officer of three companies.

 

He was interim CEO of GovXcel, a leading provider of software to government agencies, and then CEO of Thompson Media Group in Washington, DC. Thompson Media Group was a leading business-to-business content provider. Jim’s most recent CEO assignment was at Surgent, a leading national provider of continuing education to the CPA sector.

 

Jim is a graduate of Amherst College and received his MBA at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.

 

Michael Racusin

Advisory Director

 

Michael Racusin serves as our Advisory Director to the Board of Directors. Michael has more than 15 years of corporate legal experience and has a diverse background in legal and risk management, capital raising, and counseling on negotiations, contracts, and core business operations.

 

Before joining us, Michael held the position of General Counsel and Corporate Secretary at Luby’s, Inc. (NYSE:LUB), a publicly traded restaurant and foodservice company. In his role, he led the legal and risk management departments, provided material management and support for acquisitions and divestitures, and counseled the Board of Directors. In addition, Michael co-founded the world’s first and leading crowdfunding platform for oil, gas, and energy investments at EnergyFunders, where he led the company to a successful exit in June 2020.

 

During Michael’s time at Luby’s, he supported the $63 million acquisition of Fuddruckers, the $11 million acquisition of the Cheeseburger in Paradise brand, debt financing that included an $80 million secured credit facility, and numerous real estate transactions.

 

Michael earned his Doctor of Jurisprudence from The University of Houston Law Center. He is a Texas State Bar Member, holds his United States Federal Court license, and was awarded a Top 50 General Counsel award from The National Diversity Council.
